With the passion for building in his blood, owner and director Matthew Olive has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years. Completing his apprenticeship in electrotechnology then moving into carpentry & building..

He has since compiled a wealth of experience working on residential and commercial projects across NSW, Victoria, Canada and the UK.

With the long-held vision to establish his own construction company, SPH Built has now become a reality. And his vision was simple. To design and build beautiful, energy- efficient, prestige homes across Sydney’s Eastern and Inner City suburbs.

A defining quality of the SPH Built culture is Matt’s dedication to providing the very best experience for each client. Built off his personal commitment to every client, Matt is an active part of each project. He is directly involved at all stages of the project- from initial contact, scoping, construction and all the way through to completion of the defects period.

So strong are the relationships built with clients by Matt’s genuine commitment to every project that much of his business comes by referral.

His mission is to build a team of great people by providing a rewarding career for them, not just a job. Matt says, “I hope that I can encourage people around me to spend more time doing the things they love.” And, for him, it is carpentry and building. Sharing the same values and ‘can do’ approach, Matt is supported by his dedicated team of qualified carpenters and skilled tradespeople.

No job is without its issues. But with his calm and considered approach, balanced by the close-knit feel of a family run business, Matt’s professionalism, leadership and in-depth industry knowledge ensures your home building process is a smooth, efficient and memorable journey.
